Milled & Paddy Rice
The crown jewel of Cambodia's agriculture. While paddy rice continues to dominate volume (primarily to Vietnam), high-value milled fragrant rice like Malys Angkor remains the country's most recognized export to the EU and China.
Raw Cashew Nuts
Cambodia has surpassed Ivory Coast to become one of the world's largest producers of raw cashew nuts (RCN). With over 800,000 tons produced annually, the sector is now shifting from raw exports to local premium processing for B2B global markets.
Cassava (Chips & Starch)
A massive volume contributor. Exported as fresh roots, dried chips, and increasingly as industrial-grade starch. Cambodia's cassava is prized in the region for biofuel and animal feed production.
Natural Rubber
A consistent pillar of the export economy. Recent investments in tire manufacturing within Cambodia's Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are beginning to keep more value-add locally, though latex remains a top raw export.
Yellow Bananas
Fresh banana exports have surged since 2021, particularly to the Chinese market. Modern plantation infrastructure in provinces like Ratanakiri has professionalized the supply chain for cold-chain international delivery.
Mangoes (Fresh & Dried)
The Keo Romeat variety is the star here. While fresh exports face strict phytosanitary hurdles, the Dried Fruit sector has boomed, providing a stable, year-round export product that retains high sweetness and nutrition.
Kampot & Regional Pepper
While Kampot Pepper represents the ultra-premium GI (Geographical Indication) niche, large-scale production in other provinces provides high-density white and black pepper for global spice wholesalers.
Corn (Maize)
Primarily used for regional animal feed, corn exports have seen a steady rise as the livestock industry in Southeast Asia expands. Cambodia's non-GMO corn is increasingly competitive.
Crude Palm Oil
A smaller but strategically important export. Primarily produced in the coastal provinces, Crude Palm Oil (CPO) targets regional refineries and industrial buyers.
Herbal & Wellness Products
The "New Frontier." As discussed in our recent feature on the Herbal Renaissance, products like wild turmeric, ginger, and lemongrass are moving from niche market stalls to professional international supply chains.
